OPENING WORDS

Welcome to our 2023 Annual Report, the “shop window” for our work as the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund. I hope you will see that we are passionate about contributing to an improved quality of life, together with many community partners. We have been working in the Mladá Boleslav region for the past 5 years, and for 2 years in the Rychnov, Vrchlabí, and Jilemnice regions. Please read on as Dana and Láďa share the details of our activities in 2023.

Hi Láďa, I heard the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund recently had a reason for a big celebration: Its fifth anniversary! What do you think of when you look back on those five years?

Hi Dana, There’s a lot really: Our first initiatives around Mladá Boleslav where we sought the best ways to deal with challenges in the region; how to responsibly understand all the available data and how to confirm the residents’ needs. And then there is our successful launch to Vrchlabí and Rychnov regions. There are hundreds of stories, excellent projects, and many strong partnerships behind us.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board

I am proud to support the Škoda Auto Endowment Fund in my capacity as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The Endowment Fund is an active tool for realizing ESG initiatives in the regions where Škoda Auto operates, including complimenting the sustainability strategies of Škoda Auto and the Volkswagen Group. We are building on the philanthropic legacy of our founders, Václav Klement and Václav Laurin, and emphasizing the importance of developing public spaces and strengthening partnerships with municipalities and local communities. A prime example of cooperation between the public and private sectors is the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists near Česana in Mladá Boleslav, which we inaugurated in 2023. This and many other community improvement projects are documented here for your review. I hope you find them as inspirational as I do.
